Etiquette and Courtesy
Updated on October 19, 2007
Courtesy is polite behavior. Etiquette is appropriate or expected practice (often a traditional manner of doing something). Both are important parts in showing appreciation toward other persons and presenting yourself to the world. Together, we refer to them as good manners.
The goal of good manners is to let other persons know they are significant; they are important enough to elicit good manners and deserve respect. Neglecting good manners can make you seem arrogant and insult people around you.
