Ad Tips
Ads that have titles that relate to subjects discussed on our site and ad headings that look like article titles tend to have the best performance.
Ads that use company names or look obviously like they're trying to sell something tend to have the worst performance.
Kristen's Guide provides tips and tools to help you have happiness and simplify life, ideas that can help make life a bit easier. Terms for Special Setup Ads
Terms and prices are subject to change at any time without notice. Advertisers with current leases will receive notification prior to the next payment due date if terms or prices change.
Ad Locations
Ads will be located on the Kristen's Guide website (http://www.kristensguide.com).
Pages that are available for ads are viewable asp, htm, and html pages that contain html source code, and do not include site statistics pages, Kristen's Guide Community pages, blogs, RSS feeds, newsletters, syndicated content available on other websites, or files intended to work in the background (invisible to visitors).
All ad links will open in a new window when clicked.
Payment
Payment is due via PayPal before the ad will appear. Once we receive your payment, the ad will appear within one week. The date of the first appearance is the start date. Once your ad is posted, no refund will be issued for any reason.
To continue a month-to-month lease of ad space, subsequent payments are due the following month on the same day as the start date, regardless of how many days are in the month. (Example: Ad first appears February 17 (start date), next payment is due March 17, and the next payment is due April 17.)
You may also lease ad space for a term longer than one month (e.g. 3 month lease, 6 month lease, etc.). This reduces your chances of accidentally missing payments and may qualify you for term discounts depending on the term you choose. For such leases, the full amount of the term fees is due prior to the start date of the term. You may switch from a month-to-month lease to a multiple month term lease at any time, but payments or time from a month-to-month lease may not be applied toward a term lease.
If payment is not received by the next payment due date, the payment is considered missed, the ad will be removed on the day following the due date, and the ad space lease will automatically be terminated. (Example: Payment is due April 17. Payment is not received. Lease is terminated. Ad is removed on April 18 at 12:00 am Pacific Time or later.)
If a payment is missed and the ad space lease is terminated, but the advertiser wishes to continue leasing ad space, a new month-to-month lease will begin, creating a new start date, new subsequent payment due dates, and setup fees.
Once an ad is posted, changes to the ad may require an additional update fee.
Performance
Because ad space for ads is leased on a monthly basis, there is no guarantee as to the number of times your ad will be viewed or clicked. It is your responsibility to monitor ad performance. You will not receive performance reports.
There is no guarantee that placing an ad on Kristen's Guide will increase your website's traffic.
Compatibility
We reserve the right to refuse or edit advertisements to fit the space leased, to conform to our content standards, or for any other reason. If you do not agree to the edited version, you may request that your ad be removed.
Advertisements for gambling, pornography, illegal activities, tobacco, alcohol, and religion, will not be allowed under any circumstances. If your website redirects to, is affiliated with, contains links to, or contains frames that include any content deemed objectionable by the owner of Kristen's Guide, your ad space lease will automatically be rejected and/or terminated, and any posted links will be immediately removed without notice, and no refund will be issued for the current month to cover the cost of time required to setup and remove the ad from the website (refunds will only be issued for future months paid in advance on multi-month term leases).
Ads may not mimic system functions (e.g. a system warning box, dialogue box, etc.), contain form features (e.g. drop down boxes, submission forms, etc.), strobe or flash, claim any false affiliations (including affiliations with Kristen's Guide or using trademarks you do not have the rights to), or present false information. Ads must contain text and images relevant to the site being advertised (e.g. simply writing "click here" or writing "buy shoes" when your site doesn't sell shoes is not allowed).
To maintain control over all ad content, all images and text will be stored on the Kristen's Guide host server.
The content of the Kristen's Guide website changes frequently. It is expected that the content on Kristen's Guide will always be similar to the current content on the website. It is your responsibility to review the website content to determine if the content fits your organization's image and values. If you object to any content on this website, you may request that your ad be removed.
Removal
If you request that your ad be removed, it will be removed no later than two weeks after the request, but every effort will be made to remove it as soon as possible. Once your ad has been posted, you will not receive a refund for the current month if you request your ad to be removed for any reason unless special refund arrangements are made directly between and mutually agreed to by you and the owner of Kristen's Guide. This is to cover the cost of time required to setup and remove the ad from the website. Refunds will only be issued for future months paid in advance on multi-month term leases.
