Personal Financial Management Software
Once you start using financial software, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. You can download statements and import them directly into the program. Then the software does all the calculations for you, so there are fewer mistakes. It can monitor your budget and warn you when you're spending a bit too much on unnecessary purchases. It will remind you of upcoming bills to keep you from being late. It can even work with some bank's bill-pay services, so you can pay your bills right from the software.
Each of the following products are excellent.
I'm a Microsoft Money fan. I love the planning calculators (such as for debt reduction).
Quicken is best for Mac users, but some financial institutions may charge you to download Quicken QFX files.
